My background has shaped my global perspective on design.
Being a Korean person, who was born in NYC, then lived in Hong Kong for over a decade, and back in NYC since 2018, I've seen firsthand how aesthetic preferences vary across cultures and that what resonates in China looks completely different from the US. So, when TikTok talks about "helping people discover the diversity and beauty of the world," I feel that it directly connects to how I naturally approach design.

I use TikTok daily and understand it from both sides
Beyond using the platform for entertainment and shopping, I've created content that's reached people at scale. At Strada Art, an art tech startup, I produced TikTok videos interviewing NYC artists and promoting local artworks. Creating content allowed me to understand what makes people stop scrolling and how engagement actually works on the platform.

At Strada Art, an art tech startup, I produced TikTok videos interviewing NYC artists and promoting local artworks. Creating content allowed me to understand what makes people stop scrolling and how engagement actually works on the platform.
I've also used Tik Tok's Effect House platform to create a filter to promote PinkPantheress + Zara Larsson's "Stateside" music video! The filter follows a similar concept from the music video where PinkPantheress and Zara's aesthetics collide.

I prototype extensively in Figma, and have designed responsive interfaces and design systems for 15+ clients at The Working Assembly. I've also led ideation for a 0-to-1 AI video agent product at MyWorker.AI and have worked on brand experiences at multiple scales, from creating visual assets and creative strategies at KISS Products to in-store visual graphics for Marc Jacobs at Macy's Herald Square. I’ve additionally taken a course on motion design at The Cooper Union, and ultimately I'm comfortable working across all of these disciplines.

I’ve also explored AR through a Citi Bike project during my Gaia Girls fellowship. For me, working with new technologies means understanding both what's possible and what the constraints are.

At MyWorker.AI, I worked in a 0-to-1 startup setting alongside founders, designers and engineers, and at The Working Assembly, I've navigated the organized chaos of agency life, managing multiple clients across different industries. TikTok's startup culture at global scale is exactly where I want to be.
